Vi Et Armis de Beaufort – Exploring Britain’s complex relationships with other nations and its dominance of international sea trade across the centuries, this heady, narcotic scent challenges as much as it beguiles.
Using the historical cargoes of British ships as its key notes, this addictive fragrance recalls the words of George Bernard Shaw: “Emotional excitement reaches men through Tea, Tobacco, Opium, and Whisky”
Paradoxical and challenging, we imagine the roots british steeped in contradictions

Leo Crabtree is a musician turned perfumer. He is currently the drummer of the British band, “The Prodigy”. During his free time he focuses his deep passion for the darker side of British history and culture in creating his radically avant guarde perfumes for his brand, Beaufort.
BeauFort London is an expression of Leo Crabtree’s deep affinity for the sea, along with his enduring fascination towards the darker aspects of British history. The flamboyantly suited and bearded musician has loved fragrance all his life and drew on his fascination with the darker aspects of British history, the nation’s nautical heritage and his own childhood living on a boat on the River Thames when creating the ‘Come Hell or High Water’ collection. Named for the Beaufort wind force scale, the name represents a way to look at and understand ourselves: constant, enduring, ultimately changeable, and potentially destructive.
With stories inspired by Britain’s complicated past, the scents examine this historical legacy through the prism of personal expression, taking snapshots and stories of history as a means of drawing together disparate notes to create sensational olfactory sensations.
