Impressions De Giverny

Impressions De Giverny by Fort & Manle is a hypnotic kaleidoscope of vibrant florals from eloquent tulips to iridescent iris. The heady fragrance of tuberose coupled with the refined fragrance of rose overwhelm the senses whilst the clamour of poppies and enchanting peonies adorn the flowerbeds. A melange of rare exotic blooms and unpretentious native flora, all coexisting in delicate harmony. Lush bamboo thickets, wisteria and weeping willows surround the pond which is decorated in pink and white water lillies perched on bright green pads.
Reminiscent to a painting, at close glance the garden appears to be a chaotic array of colour, however on broader reflection it coalesces as a masterpiece by a true impressionist.

This fragrance is my impression of Le Jardin à Giverny in scent, the beauty of the air that cannot be achieved by the brush. An olfactive journey of Monet’s vision for a Japanese garden in the heart of Normandy.

An olfactive impression of spring in Giverny. The sparkling zest of Yuzu and Bergamot mingle with stone fruits and Red Apple to open the composition. As you cross the bridge, the fruity citrus opening surrenders to the green shrubs and exquisite flora that bloom.

Magnolia, Rose, Tuberose, Osmanthus, Orange Blossom and Violet Leaf intermingle in the heart of the fragrance to form the delicate subtlety and airy translucency of the garden. Wisps of Fig Leaf, Coriander and Tulips add charm and evoke spring in Giverny.

Like the strokes of Monet’s brush that add contrast of sunlight onto the lily pads, Neroli, Mango and Ylang Ylang add vibrancy whilst also arousing a sense of nostalgic melancholy.

An intoxicating timeless fruity white floral with an Ambergris, Benzoin and Musk base that will remain in our olfactive memories the way the passion of Monet will remain with us forever.

I want to paint the air around the bridge, the house, the boat. The beauty of the air where they are, and it is nothing other than impossible” – Claude Monet.

Fort & Manle - Rasei Fort

Rasei Fort is a self-taught perfumer and his brand Fort & Manle is an independent, artisanal perfume house which is founded and wholly owned by him.

His grandmother distilled roses into oil which was her passion and her profession. Growing up in this particular environment was literally his introduction into the world of perfumery and the reason why rose happens to be constant element in most of his creations.

Obsessive in his approach, Rasei meticulously blends artisanal oils, extracts and the finest Oud in existence. The results speak for itself, truly enhancing the fragrance, coupled with sprinklings of the most effective aroma molecules. Rasei Fort continually references history and varied cultures, including his own rich, Turkish heritage by scouring the world for the finest raw materials and combining them with his inspirations, evoking the pomp and pageantry of the Empires of old. This has resulted in the creation of luxurious compositions which combine the modern world with “Old-World” sensibilities.
